ABSTRACT
The Tajoura critical facility has been converted to low enriched uranium (LEU) fuel using the Russian manufactured IRT-4M fuel assemblies (FA). The final core containing ten 6-tube and six 8-tube IRT-4M FA was loaded to the critical facility on January 2006. During the approach to criticality and after criticality was reached many measurements were performed. In this paper measured parameters are compared with the calculated values. Two different sets of codes were used for the calculations: a) WIMS and CITATION - diffusion theory analysis; and b) MCNP - Monte Carlo analysis. The results show that there is good agreement between both calculation methods and the measured parameters.
