ABSTRACT
After the Chernobyl
accident, the German government demanded to do every ten years safety
reevaluations of nuclear power plants. Although the BER II is only a small
research reactor, we are also obliged to prepare a safety revision for our
reactor. Because this was not done for a research reactor yet, the requirements
and methods were quite unclear.
Therefore, our
first step was to establish a structure of a safety analysis and to describe
the planned work for each item. This proposal was then submitted to our authorities
and approved by them. After that we started the safety reevaluation according
to this proposal. The work will be finished in 2003. Thus, in this paper, the
work, which has been done and the results, which we have gained so far, will be
presented.
