ABSTRACT

The development of uranium silicide dispersion fuel fabrication technology has been carried out in KAERI. LEU fuel bundle was prepared for irradiation test. In order to compare the performance of atomized and comminuted U3Si dispersed fuels, the bundle of two kinds of fuel elements were prepared. Irradiation test will be performed in the OR-hole of HANARO in the near future. U3Si2 atomization technology has been improved by using ceramic crucible and nozzle. Irradiation test for atomized U3Si2 plate type fuel will be carried out in cooperation with ANL by using HANARO in connection with RERTR advanced fuel development.
