• The linked letter, dated April 19, 1996 from Jon B. Wolfsthal, Department of Energy, Office of Nuclear Nonproliferation, marks the official restart of RERTR Program efforts to develop advanced LEU fuels with uranium densities greater than the currently-qualified value of 4.8 g/cm3. Funding for the first year of work has been received at ANL, equipment is being procured for use at the Argonne-West site in Idaho, and work is underway.
